Summer is here, and there is nothing quite like summers in Michigan. If you are creating a summer bucket list and looking for activities to add to it, keep reading! We could never sum up every Grand Rapids activity in one blog post, but here are some of our personal favorites.

Watch a Movie at Studio Park

Grab a lawn chair and pick a movie to watch at Studio Park. Their Sunset Cinema features a variety of classics and newer films, so you’re sure to find something for you. Learn more.

Take a Hike

There’s no lack of hiking trails in Grand Rapids. If you’re in the mood for beautiful overlooks, we recommend Crahen Valley Park. If you’re looking for steep terrain, head to Provin Trails Park. (Bonus: these trails are right next to Robinette’s, so you can stop by after your hike for some refreshing apple cider, donuts, or wine!)

Go Biking

Grand Rapids is known for its biking trails. Wake up early on a Saturday morning, go for a bike ride, then treat yourself to your favorite local coffee! Here’s everything you need to know about biking in Grand Rapids.

Try a New Restaurant

Our city is full of amazing restaurants, but it’s so easy to keep going back to our favorites. Switch your classic dinner date up this summer, and try a restaurant you’ve never tried before.

Go to the Beach

With over 20 beaches nearby, planning a beach day shouldn’t be a problem. Every beach has its perks—some are dog-friendly, some have kayak rentals, and others have designated picnic shelters. Find the beach for you.

Visit Robinette’s Orchard & Winery

Of course we’d love for you to visit us this summer! Whether you want to enjoy a fresh donut, sip our homemade wine, or hike one of our trails, there’s something for everyone at Robinette’s.

Go Stargazing

If you haven’t been to Veen Observatory yet, this should be at the top of your summer bucket list. They host public observing nights each month, where anyone can come and see various objects, such as planets, star clusters, galaxies, and more. (There is a small fee of $5 for adults and $2 for children.)

If you’re lucky enough to live in Grand Rapids, you don’t have to travel far to have an amazing summer. We hope to see you soon!
