Apple Crisp For Two
If you’re just baking for two and don’t want a lot of leftovers, this apple crisp for two features crisp and tart apples baked with a crunchy and sweet topping. Make it a la mode with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
You will need:
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup flour
- ¼ cup oats
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup toasted and chopped pecans
- 2 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix brown sugar, oats, nutmeg, flour, cinnamon, and butter in a small bowl. Stir in the pecans.
- Place sliced apples in a mini skillet or cake pan.
- Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
- Bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Best Apple Crisp
Top fresh sliced apples with a buttery cinnamon oat topping with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to make it complete.
You will need:
- 5 cups sliced apples
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Topping:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup oats
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, then grease a large baking dish or deep dish pie plate with cooking spray or butter; set aside.
- Combine apples with the sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a large bowl until evenly coated, then pour into baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon; then pour in the butter and stir until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes until apples are soft and topping is golden brown.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
