If you’re on the hunt for something healthy and fun to do this spring with the kids, why not check out our five-mile outdoor nature trail? Open from November through August, this single-track trail has some tricky turns and climbs, so you’ll get a workout for sure. Just don’t forget your sneakers and a bottle of water.

This scenic trail meanders along our orchard, yet has some rough terrain to the north of our farm. So grab a buddy or the kids, and walk, run, or jog along our nature trail this spring.

Why Walk in Nature?

You can’t beat the feeling you get when taking a leisurely stroll or hike on a beautiful day while surrounded by nature. Did you know there are numerous health benefits associated with walking along a trail for a half hour? The National Park Service says walking can:

  • Decrease the risk of certain diseases and cancers
  • Improve heart health and circulation
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose
  • Boost the immune system
  • Prevent diseases such as dementia (that’s because interacting with green spaces can boost social interactions, which then can reduce loneliness)
  • Improve concentration
