Ahh, fall. It’s our favorite time of year again, when the weather turns cool and the apples are ripe for picking. Apple picking in Grand Rapids looks to be a success for 2024 just as it is every year. Here are some things to expect.

U-Pick

If you’re looking to pick your own apples, we offer U-pick days. Apple season generally starts in late August or early September, with U-Pick beginning mid-September. On our 125-acre property, we grow 35 varieties of apples that are harvested as early as July and as late as beginning of November.

Check out our apple harvest guide to time your visit with your favorite variety. Lodi apples are our first, harvested in late July, and Cameo apples are our last, harvested in early November. The dates you see are approximate, so always call beforehand to make sure.

Other Activities

While you’re here to pick apples, you might as well partake in one of our many other fun activities.

  • Corn maze: Open in September and October, our 6.5 acre corn maze features a new design each year. Kids under two get in free, and group tickets are available.
  • Hayrides: Our horse drawn wagon rides are available Saturdays and Sundays in fall, with kids under two free. Walk ups are welcome, but it’s advised to pre-purchase your tickets.
  • Petting zoo: Our free petting zoo is open on Sundays in September and October. The zoo is free while the pony rides are $7.
  • Jumping pillow: Come jump on our 30’ x 60’, air-filled pillow, permanently installed in the ground. It’s open every day that the store is open, weather permitting. Tickets are available at the maze entrance, in the red barn, or at the Activity Ticket Booth on fall weekends.
  • Apple Haus: In the Apple Haus, you will find our bakery, dining area, and cider mill. In the bakery, pick up some fresh donuts (we can make 200 dozen per hour!), pies, breads, and more. Eat a casual lunch in our dining area, and visit the cider mill to see our cider press in action.
  • Winery: Visit our tasting room to sample a variety of hard cider and Michigan-made wines.
